A perfect wave breaking at Jeffreys Bay, South Africa

Surf camp in South Africa

Surf trips to South Africa

A professional camp in Jeffreys Bay with Simon Dabah — one of the best surf spots in the world.

Why South Africa?

South Africa is one of the best countries in the world for surfing — a vast coastline, near-perfect conditions almost year-round, and quality waves that suit beginners and advanced surfers alike.

Beyond the waves, South Africa offers a vibrant culture, superb food, wild nature and a sense of freedom that's hard to put into words. It's a place where every day feels like a surfer's dream.

And it's exactly where you can take your surfing to the next level, with us, at a surf camp in Jeffreys Bay.

I'm not just a coach — I'm a surfer who lives it.

One instructor who lives South Africa like a local

I've been in the water for 27 years. Born in Bat Galim, certified by the international ISA association, an ocean lifeguard and a Wingate-qualified instructor.

I developed the TRB method — Timing, Reading Waves, Balance — with one goal: to bring real results in a short time. My approach has always been personal, precise and goal-focused, the kind that drives trainees to break through levels in months instead of years.

South Africa isn't just a great surf destination — it's my second home. Over the last five years I'm the only one who comes here consistently, between 4 and 6 times a year. I hand-pick my team — top-level coaches with sharp diagnostic ability and an eye for the small details.

My approach is simple: every session has to produce a result. I don't compromise on precision, depth and personal attention, because that's the only way to reach a real breakthrough in surfing.

How the camp works

The camp runs throughout the South African surf season. Participants choose the date that suits them best, from a list of dates published in advance, when I'm physically in South Africa.

Before every camp I hold a personal call with each participant, to understand their current surfing level in depth, get to know their challenges and goals, and build a personally tailored plan that delivers precise, measurable results.

10 days, and everything they include

The camp lasts 10 days and includes:

2 sessions a day

One of them filmed at especially high quality for technical analysis.

Professional video analysis

One of the most effective ways to progress: you see exactly what to fix.

Beachfront accommodation

Front-row apartments by the water — well-equipped, comfortable and indulgent.

Camp transport

Organized transfers to the waves and back throughout the camp.

Small, quality groups

Only up to 6 participants per camp — genuinely personal attention.

The camp doesn't include flights, personal insurance or food. Each participant arranges these independently. Food in South Africa is tasty and cheap, and you can manage on about ₪20–30 a day.

To truly move your surfing forward

Unlike other camps that focus on the experience, our central goal is to genuinely move your surfing forward.

The experience around it will come anyway, from the waves, the scenery and the atmosphere of South Africa. But the heart of the camp is result-focused training.

FAQ

Which levels is the camp suitable for?

The camp suits surfers from beginner level (on a soft board) up to advanced. It's important to have some basic experience first — even a little.

Do I need to bring my own gear or do you provide it?

At beginner level we provide all the gear. At advanced level it's better to bring the board you want to progress on. You can also order a board in advance, waiting for you here when you land.

What happens if there are no waves on one of the days?

Nature has its own rules, and if the conditions aren't right or aren't safe, we won't go in the water. Instead we'll run an enriching activity that advances your surfing, or head out for a fun day of local attractions.

Can I come on my own?

Of course you can come on your own! If you're old enough to travel independently, you're all set. You can also join groups arriving on the camp dates.

How do you get to Jeffreys Bay — do you help with flights?

We have a flight agent available to camp participants who can help you sort out your tickets.

What sets this camp apart from others?

It all starts with the level of coaching. The coaches with you in the water aren't 'babysitters' — they're real, professional coaches who surf at the highest level. We're not here just for you to have fun — we're here for you to progress.

Is there insurance for the activity?

The camp doesn't include insurance. Each participant is required to arrange personal insurance covering extreme sports and surfing activity.

Is food included in the camp?

Food isn't included, but food in South Africa is tasty and cheap, and you can manage on about ₪20–30 a day.

Does the camp only take place in Jeffreys Bay?

Not necessarily. For certain levels or trainees with a clear goal, we can build a personally tailored trip based on the conditions, levels and locations, whether that's a competitive trip against local groups or a full surf adventure. Anything is possible when you work precisely.
